1953 Morris Minor Series 11 4 door deluxe saloon in delightful condition. A largely original car which was retained by the first owners – 2 sisters – for more than 50 years. The Morris had been in storage for some years when the next owner purchased it from the surviving sister. He renovated the car – which has always been known as Bunty I gather – and returned it to the road in 2008 when it had covered just 53,000 miles. It is understood to have had little use since. He sold it to the present lady owner in 2016 and we have been asked to offer it for sale on her behalf as she is working abroad.
This car is a rare earlier model with the “cheesegrater”grille and “jukebox” dashboard and is in good condition. I believe it has received a respray and some new brightwork in recent years. The underside appears to be original and has none of the usual welding repairs visible. At some stage, the rather feeble 803cc engine and gearbox have been replaced with later 948cc units and larger 8inch Minor 1000 front brakes have also been fitted. Discreet flashing indicators have also been added to compliment the original trafficators. A new wiring loom has been fitted and much other work done. The Morris retains its original registration which is a nice touch and has one of the best original interiors I have seen in recent years. As a “deluxe” model, this car has the benefit of real leather facings.
Anybody looking for a decent early Series 11 would be well advised to view this car. It is not perfect, but it is not priced at the top of the market either and represents very good value for money. It is of course exempt for road tax and MOT purposes but a new MOT can be arranged for the buyer if desired.
Offered at £5,250.00. DEPOSIT TAKEN. SALE AGREED.
