Morris Minor 1000 Traveller first registered 05 01 1970. Only 3 owners since new and 2 of them were father and daughter who purchased it in the 1970s and have just sold it to us. Total mileage of under 100,000, the car has been well maintained all its life and had a bodywork restoration by Charles Ware in the past which included an underside rebuild, complete new timber frame, new wings and a respray.

The car is in good condition and drives well with a responsive engine and quiet gearbox and differential. A full service has been carried out and the brakes overhauled including the fitting of a new master and slave cylinders all round, various brake hoses and pipes, suspension bushes and so on. A new water pump has also been fitted along with various new hoses etc. We have submitted the car for a new MOT for peace of mind – although it does not require one by law. The car now has 12months MOT until February 2026 with no advisories. It is also tax exempt of course.

The timber frame is very sound but was treated with an oil finish when replaced and this has been continued each year to preserve it. It does give it a rather dull, dark finish unfortunately.

Offered for sale on behalf of the owner. This 1968 Morris Minor 1000 Traveller has been off the road for some years in storage. During those years it has been gradually taken carefully to pieces, largely restored and rebuilt by the owner who is a retired garage owner. Any work required to the vehicle structure has been attended to. All body panels have been removed, repaired or replaced and then resprayed in Old English White. An all new timber framework was fitted and all new interior trim too. The repainted car was finished off with almost a full set of new chromed brightwork. The mechanical side was not overlooked and everything which required attention has been restored or replaced. A great deal of money has been spent on the restoration which has produced a very smart useable car which should give many many years of pleasure and good service. Although MOT exempt, the car has undergone a recent MOT test.

MORRIS MINOR 1000 TRAVELLER 1971. Finished in Maroon with red interior. Leather seat facings and many other expensive upgrades. This car underwent a full restoration some years ago and is still in very good condition having been garaged and used carefully when the better weather allows. It has been well maintained and although no longer required, has been MOTd each year. Fitted with upgraded brakes and matching Bridgestone radial ply tyres. One of the last Travellers produced and in one of the most attractive colours.

MORRIS MINOR 1000 TRAVELLER 1098cc 1968. This is a proper original Morris Traveller just as the maker intended. It has not been “improved” by fitting parts from scrapped Fords, Vauxhalls and Morris Marinas. It is a nice uncomplicated car, easy to maintain and which looks good and drives just as it should, having been cared for during its whole 50 year life. Only 3 owners from new. Low mileage of approx 86,000. Apparently owned by the British Government as a staff car from new until 1975. Paperwork still with the car along with old invoices, MOTs etc. Smoke Grey/Blue with light blue interior. A sound car in good condition. Restored in 2005 by Charles Ware with invoice available for £11,500.00. Only 9000 miles since. Well maintained, drives very well, MOT until November 2018. For sale on behalf of the lady owner who is seldom able to drive it now and feels that the car should be used more. It might not be the most sparklingly immaculate Traveller on the market but it isn’t £15,000 either and you won’t be afraid to use it!
